bump - 31 weeks!

Single digits!  ONLY 9 weeks!!

Below is the worst picture I have even taken/ put on my blog.  I forgot to take a picture and on Wednesdays I work from home so that means I don't get ready for the day.  I tend to shower late afternoons those days.  I went for a run then straight to the grocery store and homegoods so I look rough - no judging!
31 weeks 6 days

Total Weight Gain:  +25 pounds.  My Doctor said baby girl was more than likely already 4 pounds....4 pounds...that is nuts!  I asked him how big she will get and he said it is a guess but he thinks around 8.  As long as I don't birth a toddler I am ok.

Maternity Clothes:  Yep!  I actually need to start buying nursing clothes.

Stretch Marks:  Nada!

Sleep:  We need a bigger bed.  I take up so much room!  I wake up at least once if not twice for the potty and it takes time to fall back asleep which is annoying.

Best Moment of the Week:  We had our 3D/ 4D ultrasound this past week.  Any chance I get to see or hear her I am excited about!

That is her foot in her face!

The US tech made a comment about her rolls....she is a little fatty already!

Miss Anything:  Belly button and body.  Sleeping on my belly.  I had a small glass of wine the other night and really didn't want it.  Sort of sad.  I ended up giving it to Matt.

Movement:  She is a mover and a shaker!  I sometimes have to lay down just to feel comfortable with all her moving.  We also felt her hiccups for the first time!

Food cravings:  I wanted lemon flavored dessert so we bought a lemon pound cake.  Delicious.  I don't think I have ever bought a lemon dessert.  Matt has had some major food cravings.  He craved sauteed mushrooms and Chick-fil-a icedream this week.  He actually had icedream twice in ONE DAY.  He stopped by a gas station to even get a butterfinger to crush up for his topping.  I couldn't finish my small and went to get it the next day in the freezer and it was gone.  He is out of control.

Anything Making you Queasy or Sick:  eggs and breakfast meats.  Mexi doesn't sound bad it just makes me think I will have reflux from it so still avoiding.

Symptoms:  Feeling obese, belly button being gross, sore back

Exercise:  2 runs @ 2.4 miles and 2 runs @ 1.6 miles.  I am walking if I feel uncomfortable.

Happy or Moody:  Moody.  I am a little crazy some days.  Like rude for no reason and then happy the next.  I can hear myself being crazy too which is the worst.

Looking forward to:  Our sweet friends are throwing us a couples shower this weekend and I am SO EXCITED!!

babymoon!

Matt and I spent the other weekend in Beaufort and it was glorious.  There isn't much to do in Beaufort except eat so we did exactly that.  This post is pretty much about food actually which is probably lame but makes me happy.  We did visit Hunting Island which has the coolest beach I have ever been to in the Carolinas.  It is a state park so there are tons of shade trees and it felt very private.

Hunting Island

View from the lighthouse.  I didn't even try to climb up there.

We first had drinks (mocktail!) and apps at Breakwater then had dinner at Saltus.  One of the best pieces of grouper I have ever had and we ate on a gorgeous patio.
One morning we had breakfast at Lowcountry Produce and it was delicious!
Doughnuts to start....
I had their homemade granola which even looked pretty.
Matt had biscuits and gravy topped which egg (gross).
Walking around...

Our second night we ate at Wren.
Cool decor....

Umm the waitress gave me "extra" cake since I was pregnant!  This is the second time I have been hooked up during pregnancy.  I meant to take a picture of Matt's shrimp in grits but forgot.  Once I remembered he refused to stop eating to take one because he said it was the best he has ever had which is a bold statement.

It was so great to get away with my main squeeze!

bump - 29 & 30 weeks!

This pregnancy is flying by!  I am actually 31 weeks as I type this.  She will be here before I know it!

The other weekend Matt and I went to our childbirth class from 9-3. We were both on the fence about going.  I am not a birth plan kind of person but I am really glad we went.  I learned all sorts of things I never even thought about....like when to go to the hospital.  I still don't feel ready to have a baby yet, but have a better understanding of the process.  Also, the food at our hospital is actually good so Matt is happy about that!  Some people asked awful questions and the couple in front of us were taking crazy notes - like pages and pages.  The worst question was from a guy who asked if the umbilical cord crunches when you cut it. He didn't want to pass out...lucky for him it doesn't.  The breathing exercises were extra lame.  I think if you don't exercise or if you haven't taken a yoga class then maybe you learned something.  I am curious what kind of person I will be during labor.  The teacher said she had a patient who actually sat in the dark on the birthing ball and didn't want anyone talking or touching her....I feel like this might be me.  The only terrifying thing was this image in this book they passed out that shows you to scale what your cervix looks like each centimeter dilated. I almost lost my breakfast (biscuits and gravy from the cafeteria which was awesome!) but instead decided to text a picture of it my friend who is expecting, Michael, telling her that this is what your vajayjay will look like.  She hates me.
30 weeks 2 days

Total Weight Gain:  I was up 24 lbs at my 29 weeks appointment.  Crazy to me....I can really feel a difference carrying around that weight too.  I caught myself leaning on something while waiting in a line the other day.  Wtf.

Maternity Clothes:  I only wear maternity.  I prefer to wear dresses too - the waist on some clothes can be uncomfortable.

Stretch Marks:  Not yet!!

Sleep:  I wake up all the time now usually for potty breaks.  I am wanting to take naps more too.

Best Moment of the Week:  Our babymoon!  I will blog about that next.  It was so nice to just spend time with Matt with ZERO plans.

Miss Anything:  Belly button - it is like halfway out and weird looking.  I miss being active.  I can barely bend over anymore...putting on shoes is awful.

Movement:  She is moving so much it is almost painful!  Cool out little lady!  I was sleeping one night and Matt couldn't fall asleep because he could feel her moving through the bed.

Food Cravings:  Not really?  I have been craving meat lately....like a PB&J for lunch doesn't cut it.

Anything Making you Queasy or Sick:  I had eggs on a salad the other day and loved it!  The idea of eggs for breakfast or breakfast meats stil bothers me.

Symptoms:  Pregnancy brain, sick belly button, feeling obese, and sometimes I get dizzy.  Honestly, it has been a great pregnancy.  I have been very lucky!

Exercise:  Week 29 - ran 3x @ 2.4.  Week 30 - ran 2x @ 2.4 and did the elliptical for 25 min at the hotel.  That elliptical was a legitimate workout.  I am one of those people who don't count elliptical or walking as working out...until now!  I was trying to explain how much more work it is now to Matt by basically saying imagine going on walk and holding a small child.  He changes it in his head to deli meat.  When you talk about weight he thinks of pounds of deli meat.  I find that hilarious because I know when the Doctor said that I have put on 24 lbs that 24 bags of deli meat stacked went through his head.

Happy or Moody:  Happy!

Looking forward to:  Finishing the nursery!

bump - 28 weeks!

I can't believe we are in the THIRD TRIMESTER!  I am so excited to think about meeting my little lady soon.  Matt and I both find ourselves imaging what our future will be like.  We were on a date waiting for a table in the bar (booorrring for peeps who can't drink like myself) and Matt saw a little girl and said how excited he is to be having a girl!  I know he is over the moon about being a Dad but this was the first time he made a comment about having a girl.  We have both spent many nights talking about her and talking to her and you really cannot help but feel lucky to be part of such a miracle.

Ok, enough sappy chit chat.....

28 weeks 6 days - GROSS bump pic!!

Total Weight Gain:  I am going to guess.....+21 or 22.  My appointment is tomorrow.  So that puts me around 141 or 142.  I read that you gain 11 pounds in the last trimester.  Matt keeps thinking the article we read said 11 pounds a month and I have corrected at least 3 times.  Of course he would think it makes sense to put on 11 pounds a month.  Ridiculous.

Maternity Clothes:  Yep!

Stretch Marks:  Nada!

Sleep:  Starting to have insomnia like I did the first trimester.  I wake up to tinkle around 4 and typically can't fall asleep till around 5:30 and get up for the day around 6:10 so it isn't horrible...yet.

Best Moment of the Week:  There are so many!  We have painted her nursery which I am so excited about.  We also bought a new ride.  Matt and I are going to car share.  He gets a tax write off for purchasing an SUV that he drives at least 50% of the time.  So I will either be driving his old car, a Honda Accord, or driving the new (new to us that is - it is a 2011) Tahoe.  He was thrilled about this car so that is always fun to see your spouse so happy.  :)  This ride has second row bucket seats which is HUGE for kids!

Miss Anything:  My belly button!  It feel so strange to have it stick out part of the way.  It actually grosses me out.

Movement:  She is moving SO much more!  She is doing flips in there!

Food Cravings:  Carbs!

Anything Making you Queasy or Sick:  Eggs, pizza, mexi, and our garage.  That's right....our garage.  No idea what Matt threw away - he says old grass - but it smells like a dead body or what I would think a dead body would smell like.  I couldn't find something the other day and of course assumed he trashed it so he had to dig through it and we both were gagging.  Turns out what I needed was in my nightstand...whooops...(he later said that he wishes I weren't pregnant so he could punch me - joking of course).  I am sure our garbage man cursed us during pick up.

Symptoms:  I feel like an ahole listing out all my problems so I will just put my sick belly button and pregnancy brain.  I am glad I had an awesome mid year review at work before this kicked in or I would be in trouble.

Exercise:  I ran 2x last week at 2.4 miles.....slack!  Damn insomnia leaves me no energy!

Happy or Moody:  Happy!!

Looking forward to:  Our birthing class alllllll day Saturday!  I can't wait to watch Matt's reaction in this class.  We have both tried to watch videos on the iPad and had to pretty much toss it across the room.  I have asked my nurse friend, Megan, probably a million gross questions over the years so I feel somewhat prepared.  I freaked out so much when she told me about the afterbirth (the most horrific thing I have ever heard btw) 2 years ago that I made such a ruckus (we were at the beach) the renters two floors up came down to let us know they heard every word and to see if we could keep it down.  BRING IT birthing class!
