bump - 27 weeks!


27 weeks 5 days

Total Weight Gain:  According to my Doctor's scalee +20 so 140.  My appointments are now going to be every other weeks so I am going to stop weighing myself and just go by what they say.  Plus their scale says I am 2 lbs lighter so of course I am going to use their number!

Maternity Clothes:  Yep.  I was talking to my bestie Michael who is expecting a little girl this fall (we will force our girls to be BFFs) and I finally understand why women back in the day wore moo moos during pregnancy.  I mean I would love to basically wear a cloth tent.  Not everyday....but everyday to work because who cares what you look like at work.  I never thought I would be like this and cringed when my mother actually talked about moo moos but I GET IT.

Stretch Marks:  Nope!

Sleep:  I sleep hard and wake up exhausted.  I have never felt like this night after night before.

Best Moment of the Week:  Sitting on the patio with my friends in HHI having Matt demonstrate how he talks to the baby.  I was laughing so hard I wasn't breathing and almost peed my pants...can't be good for Baby Girl.

Miss Anything:  The usual...my old body and wine. 

Movement:  Baby girl is a mover and a shaker!

Food Cravings:  I craved a smoothie for days and finally picked one up.  Normally I eat smoothies to be healthy, this time I craved it.  I ate it with a bagel so I clearly wasn't thinking about my health.

Anything Make you Queasy or Sick:  Eggs, pizza, mexi

Girl:  Lady!

Symptoms:  I took my glucose test and tested negative!  I really freaked myself out since I have a major sweet tooth.  I am anemic so that means iron pills which means constipation.  Awesome - I can't wait to start taking them! 

Exercise:  I ran 4x @ 2.4 miles.  I walk hills.

Happy or Moody:  Very happy lately!

Looking forward to:  I need to get my shit together.  I have so much to do.  I need to get a newborn photographer, buy her outfits for this session, sign up for breastfeeding classes, meet with my HR to tell them I am pregnant, buy new bras because these things will not stop growing, decorate her nursery - serious work left to done there including finding fabric to have her bumper and crib skirt made, finish our living room, plan our vacation, find a dress for my showers, and probably a million other things.  I have this urge to complete everything by week 36.  I think once my Doctor said my appointments will be bi-weekly I started to panic.

bump - 26 weeks!


 So I failed to get a true baby bump photo.  These were taken in a dressing room so I could remember this dress -  they weren't meant to be shared.  If so, I would have taken my shorts off that are under the dress!!


26 weeks 2 days


Total Weight Gain:  +21 so I am at 141.  Oye!  Guess who gets to put on a bathing suit this weekend??  At least people are nice enough to tell me that it is all tummy (and boobs) but I know better.  (It is nice to hear that though!)  I know my ass and thighs and these are not them!  I think I have come to peace with this - I just don't want to deliver a nine pound baby!  That freaks me out to think about.  My younger sister saw me over the weekend and said my arms and face still look normal.  Thanks Sam!

Maternity Clothes:  Oh yea!  I still workout in regular clothes (they don't make real workout clothes for maternity that I can find) so that is not a flattering look on me.  I have to roll down the waist to go below belly and try to pair it with some sort of large top.  I actually ran in an old bathing suit cover up with shorts the other day.  Not pretty.  I have a pair of maternity workout pants from GAP but it is too hot for pants!

Stretch Marks:  Not yet! 

Sleep:  I could always use more!  What I would give for sleeping on my tummy.....

Best Moment of the Week:  My sweet MIL brought Baby E some of the CUTEST clothes!  I can't wait to post pictures of Baby Girl in them one day!  The other awesome moment was seeing all my sisters and Mom at a bridal shower for Sam over the weekend.  :)

Miss Anything:  I could really go for a date of sushi and white wine.  I miss the taste of food....it doesn't taste the same as it did before....like everything is blah.  Oh and I had the joy of purchasing a BIGGER bikini bottom for the beach....a medium.  :(  I bought a maternity tankini top with the hopes that I could just wear my bottoms.  They still fit....just not to the degree where I think I look "good" in them anymore.  I decided what the hell and purchased a large too.  At this rate I will be a blimp come July 4th week.  Although I do like the thought that I can eat a large lunch on the beach and worry about food tummy!!  That is exciting!

Movement:  The BEST part of my day!  She is moving so much more now....I love it!  Matt gets jealous that he doesn't get to feel her move like I do.  It is such an amazing miracle and makes the small things (like buying a bigger bathing suit bottom) go away and not matter.

Food Cravings:  Half and half tea because drinking water 24/7 blows

Anything Make You Queasey or Sick:  Eggs, breakfast meats, pizza, and I have been turned off by Mexican.  I just don't want it.

Gender:  GIRL!

Symptoms:  I am noticing more pains and pressure.  I can really feel it when I run.  It doesn't truly hurt but I do notice it.  Cramps in my calves are awful.  AND my hair is not oily.  I can go 3 days without washing it!!

Exercise:  I ran 3x at 2.4 miles and 1 time was just a 2.4 walk/ jog. 

Happy or Moody:  Happy!

Looking forward to:  Hilton Head with our group of friends for Memorial!  CAN'T WAIT!

nursery progress!

Let me start by saying this post is going to be all over the place because I am all over the place.  I have started to decorate Baby Girl's nursery but am still in the early stages.  I can see the big picture in my head so I am hesitant to blog about it yet BUT am curious how much will change in the next for weeks as this space develops.

So, where to begin?  The crib!  My sweet MIL treated us to a crib.  This was a hard to select because trying to pick one out that will last through all of your babies (we would love to have 2 more after Baby Girl) means I need to LOVE the crib.  We both really love the iron cribs but those are just  expensive and I can't get past spending more than a few hundred on a crib for some reason.  I have always loved the Jenny Lind style crib so this ended up being THE ONE.  I love the timeless look!  Plus, I am super odd in that I want to see the crib skirt.  Some of the cribs are so close the ground that you can't see the skirt so this was VERY important to me.

I have also purchased sheets for this bed.  I know the crib skirt and bumper will more than likely be a linen fabric so really the only pink I want in the space will be the wall color and a little bit in the sheets.  I very picky on this shade of pink because it is BABY pink, not pink.  This means that it is very light, faded almost.  Someone asked me recently about the color purple and because I can't seem to filter my comments anymore I let out an "ewwwww grosss".  I. Hate. Purple.  I say this because it is hard to do purple well as far as home decor.  Purple CAN be gorgeous but it takes a good eye to create that sort of space. 

Where was I?  Oh yea, paint color.  Matt was ambitious and painted the room already.  I think it might be too pink so I am going to look at some more samples.  Currently it is Farrow & Ball Pink Ground. 

We are also going to have an overhead light instaleld.  I haven't picked it out yet.  I called an electrician and it is about $150 to install this because we have an attic and a switch already in the room so it really seems worth it.  I also want a floor lamp next to our glidder.

The other recent addition is a Blabla sheep mobile!  It was my Mother's Day gift from Matt and I LOVE IT!
This is just the cutest thing!


We also have the piece of furniture we will be using as the changing table purchased.  Matt is picking it today!  It is actually a media chest but it will work perfectly for what we need.  I should be able to fit a changing pad and a small tray to hold lotions and such.

 I am also really liking Jellycat stuff animals.  I need to get some!


We are planning on using the watercolored animals in our guest bath in her nursery.  We only have 2 and I see 4 hanging over the crib.

bump - 25 weeks!



25 weeks 4 days!  Same top from  week 17! 
 Total Weight Gain:  21 one pounds and I feel EVERY SINGLE ONE OF THEM.  It isn't like I am eating french fries and cupcakes everyday so this honestly surprises me how my body is reacting to pregnancy.

Maternity Clothes:  Yes.  I can still wear a few things regular but 90% maternity. 

Stretch Marks:  Not yet!

Sleep:  Sleeping on the side isn't great....what I would give for a night of belly sleeping....

Best Moment of the Week:  My sweet hubby decided to play it safe and get me a Mother's Day gift.  He also treated me to din at our favorite little spot 300 East.  I also got some sweet cards/ texts wishing me a Happy Mother's Day which was sooo thoughtful.

Miss Anything:  My old body and wine.  I had a few sips of Matt's the other night.  I know you can have 4oz but I want to hold out to 3rd trimester before I actually have that amount. 

Movement:  Yep!  Mostly at night...my little night owl.  :)  This is the best part of pregnancy!!

Food Cravings:  Wellllll I was running errands over the weekend solo and went to Petsmart to pick up Stella's food only to realize that it is to heavy for me to lift (this is after I had major road rage) so I was pissed and felt those crazy mad tears come over me.  I first called Matt to blame him for suggesting that he could send his pregnant wife to pick up dog food.  (I am such a gem sometimes.)  So I went to my car, collected myself and decided to get a Newks salad.  I had been craving a salad with honey mustard or balsamic allllll day so I drove to this place and parked and saw someone else tug on the door and it was closed.  I lost my shit.  Mad psycho quiet tears....you know the ones where you are trying to lock it up so your face is making to worst expression.  So I knew I was being crazy and needed to go home and take a nap.  No salad for this girl.....

Anything Make You Queasy or Sick:  Seeing runny eggs.  Matt made french toast which really grossed me out when it was cooking.

Gender:  Girl!

Symptoms:  Cramps in my calves, exhaustion, and acid reflux.  I truly feel pregnant now and notice if I need to sit down after hours and hours on my feet.  I was in Dallas for the day last week visiting stores and could not wait to get back on the jet so I could sit.  Haha.

Exercise:  The days of running a solid 3 miles are over.  I ran 4x last week all were 2.4 miles.

Happy or Moody:  If you read my story above on the food cravings I am going to have to go with moody. 

Looking forward to:  Painting the nursery!  Matt is going to try to do it one night this week.  I plan on blogging about the nursery progress soon!

bump - 23 weeks!


23 weeks 2 days

Total Weight Gain:  My Doctor's glorious scale says +17 so I am going with that.  (My scale says +19)

Maternity Clothes:  Oh yea!

Stretch Marks:  Nada!

Sleep:  My Dr. said I need more iron.  Iron makes you (TMI about to happen) constipated so I haven't started taking it yet.  I am not the greatest in that department especially since becoming pregnant so I have been putting it off.  Don't worry - I am not anemic yet (they did blood work very in pregnancy) so I will take it....just maybe in a few days.

Best Moment of the Week:  We have selected a crib!

Miss Anything:  WINE!  I went on a work trip to Orlando and having a work dinner without booze was awful. 

Movement:  Oh yea!  This really is the best of pregnancy!

Food Cravings:  I did crave a Chick-fil-a #1 which I was so hungry for I value sized at lunch.  Matt judged.  I am also eating a ton of cereal.

Anything make you queasy or sick:  Still breakfast which doesn't bother me when I see other people eat it....until now.  At this work trip everyone was eating eggs with meats and I thought I was going to barf up my bowl of berries.

Gender:  Girl!

Symptoms:  Acid reflux.  Tums are the best!

Exercise:  I ran 3 or 4 times (3 miles each).  I can't remember exactly because this baby has made me dumb.

Happy or Moody:  Moody that I had to go out of town for work.  I HATE traveling with work and I know I am sounding bratty because it isn't that common but blows nonetheless.  No idea how people travel as part of their regular week.

Looking forward to:  Setting up the nursery!

bump - 22 weeks!

22 weeks 2 days


Total Weight Gain: 136.5....so +16.5.  I am ok with gaining weight...just terrified of the cankles....terrified.

Maternity Clothes:  Yes!  I feel like I have enough now to get by the rest of pregnancy.  That might change when I get really big this summer or if I have a lot of swelling.

Stretch Marks:  Nope!  My Mom had them so I have already come to terms that I will get them.  My Doctor says the creams don't help prevent them - they do help with the itchy skin.

Sleep:  I am sleepy all the time.  I feel weaker too and find it annoying that I get exhausted in the middle of tasks that I used to breeze through like cleaning our house.  I take more breaks now. 

Best Moment of the Week:  My little sister had a bridal shower this weekend!  Her friends did such an amazing job.  I could not get over how cute everything was.

Miss Anything:  My body.  I know I am an asshole for typing that but I caught a look at my backside the other day and gasped.  Plus I am trying to be honest in this blog.  Pregnancy isn't all rainbows and sunshine people!  Not looking at that again till 2014...geez.

Movement:  I feel her more and more everyday!  I mostly feel her at night which is why I don't fall asleep as early...I feel like we are hanging out.  :)

Food Cravings:  Not really.  I am sick of drinking water.  I have been making infused water, trying different store bought flavored water products and I have been having the occasional iced tea.  I know you are thinking I am a bad Mom for having caffeine!  Well that is bunch of crap.  You can have 250 mg a day so having a glass of tea or a coffee is totally fine.  Now I only have one or two a week but that is currently all I want right now.  Plus I drink my coffee black and I my tea is 2/3 unsweet with 1/3 sweet so I am not having that much sugar.

Anything making you queasy or sick:  Still eggs and breakfast meats.  The smell of beer which is bizarre.  Oh and I can't watch bloody or scary movies.  We were watching one the other night and I had to leave the room....that has never happened before!

Gender:  Girl!

Symptoms:  Dizzy, sleepy, and dumb.  Also speaking my mind more which is bound to get me in trouble at work.

Exercise:    I ran 3x (3 miles each).  Slow as molasses though.

Happy or Moody:  Happy 90% of the time! 

Looking forward to:  Joining a church and picking out her name.  I am pretty much sold on her name but almost feel like I have to see her first!  As far as churches, we have gone to several and have pretty much decided what we will be (we were raised different religions).  It is important to both of us that our children attend church regularly.
