nursery inspiration!

Creating a nursery for our little girl has been exciting.  We are still in the planning phase, but I am fairly certain I know what I want it to look like.  I know I want the space to be calming and very baby.  When I say baby I mean soft....like neutral colors.  I want to keep the crib skirt and bumper gender neutral because we planning on having more than 1, so I will bring in color with the walls and accessories.  Below are some pictures of nurseries that I just adore.

bump - 21 weeks!

I am a liar!  I am actually 22 weeks in this photo...play along for my amusement!

Total weight gain:  +16 so that puts me at 136.  Just awesome.

Maternity clothes:  YES!  My friend Amy gave me a huge bag of clothes that have been really helping out.

Stretch marks:  Nope!

Sleep:  That damn bird is still around (see week 20 post) so I would like more sleep.

Best moment this week:  Getting our living room chairs in!  Matt surprised me and had them at the house for me.  He is gem...except when he makes comments like: "Well at least you don't look fat anymore and look pregnant now."  Winner.  (I know he totally didn't mean this comment but it DID come out of his mouth)

Miss Anything:  Sleeping on my stomach.

Movement:  Yes!  After lunch and at night.  Matt finally felt her for the first time!

Food cravings: Water?  The more I talk to peeps with kids I am starting to think the whole cravings things is an excuse to eat crap which I do without "craving" it (see total weight gain).  Except for those oddballs who crave like dirt or pickles with ketchup....now THAT is what I would call a craving.  OR maybe it happens when I am further along....who knows.

Anything making you queasy or sick:  Still avoiding eggs & pizza.  Red sauce things actually sound nasty too.

Gender:  Girl!

Symptoms:  I really can't  complain!

Exercise:  I ran 5x (4 runs at 3 miles each and 1 at 2.5) and did my sweet Tracy Anderson DVD.  It really is a good DVD - I just hate working out to DVDs.

Happy or Moody most of the time:  Happy!

Looking forward to:  Picking out her name!

bump - 20 weeks!

20 weeks 5 days
Total weight gain:  +15 so that puts me at 135.  Boo.

Maternity clothes:  Yes!  I tried to sunbath in a bathing suit I fit in a few weeks ago and it was not pretty.  So I am trying to wear all maternity clothes now for my own sanity.  Squeezing yourself into regular clothes "just to see" and it not working out sucks EVEN pregnant.

Stretch marks:   Nope!

Sleep:  I would like more.  We have this bird that keeps flying into the windows.  He will do it EVERY SINGLE morning around 6:45 - 7:15 non stop.  It has been happening for weeks and all I want is to sleep in past 6:45 on the weekend.  At first it use to freak Stella out - I guess she thought someone was playing with her that early.  Now she seems annoyed.  Matt is a bird LOVER so there is no chance he will take down the bird feeder.  (Stella and Matt will gaze out the window in admiration for the birds in our yard.  Stella just wants to hunt them and Matt just ooos and ahhhs at them.  I am married to child in a man's body who also has grandpa tendencies.)

Best moment this week:  Being halfway!  I was really really excited about it and then reality set in that we have done almost NOTHING to prepare for this baby.  That and feeling baby girl move around.  Feeling her really makes it so worth it....lbs and all.

Miss Anything:  white wine, red wine, pink wine, any color wine.  Matt decided to make his own beer.  How convenient....

Movement:  My first real movement was felt April 6 while I was in bed after a night out with friends.  Hilarious night out might I add....one girl admitted to drinking a margarita in the shower that day...the other threw a book at her hubby.  Love them.

Food cravings:  I wish I could say fruit and salads but that simply isn't true.  I do force myself to eat both everyday but I by no means crave it.  I would say cheese....

Anything making you queasy or sick:  Still avoiding eggs & pizza

Gender:  Girl!

Symptoms:  Dizzy every now and then but great overall.  I have noticed I feel short of breath after walking up the stairs.

Exercise:  I ran 3x (3 miles each) and did a power yoga class.

Happy or Moody most of the time:  Happy!  Maybe a little mean to the hubby though...not on purpose.

Looking forward to:  Starting on the nursery!

Matt and I decided to find out the gender and we could not be more excited!!!
I was so gung-ho about keeping it a surprise but then I read something about how it helps you bond with your baby.  I could not get over that concept because it just makes sense.  I will be able to talk to her now and every since finding out it feels more real!  I am ready to start shopping!!

We had our US the Wednesday before Easter and had the tech write the sex down on a piece of paper.  We decided we wanted to go out to eat and open it there.

Our little girl has a huge head!  Love her!
It was like Christmas morning - we couldn't get the envelope open fast enough!  We decided to tell our families in a creative way.  Everyone still thought we weren't finding out so it was nice to surprise people.  I mailed out these little Easter eggs that had the reveal inside.

We spent the weekend in Hilton Head with my Matt's family so we decided to make cupcakes with pink centers for them.

I can't wait to meet our little lady!

bump - 19 weeks!

19 weeks 4 days

Total weight gain:  +14 so I am now 134.  Sigh.  My Dr. made me feel better though and reassured me that I am right on track with my BMI.

Maternity clothes:  Still mixing regular with maternity.  I bought some things at GAP that I am excited to wear and my sweet MIL treated me to some new clothes from Motherhood Maternity. :)

Stretch marks:  Nope!

Sleep:  Still great!

Best moment this week:  Our anatomy ultrasound - Baby E is healthy!  Seeing our sweet little baby on the screen and hearing that little heartbeat was just amazing.

Miss Anything:  beer, wine, vodka.... you get the picture.  Deli meat not microwaved.

Movement:  I think I felt Baby E move!  It does feel like little bubbles/ flutters right now. :)

Food cravings:  Sweets & smoothies - but both of these are normal for me
Anything making you queasy or sick:  Eggs gross me out

Gender:  I know it is going to be a little lady!

Symptoms:  This is the best I have felt since prego!

Exercise:  I ran 3x last week (2 runs were 3 miles each and 1 was 6 miles) and did a power yoga class.  Next week I hope to run 4-5x since it finally feels like Spring!

Happy or Moody most of the time:  Happy...and maybe a little emotional.  I cry more now.

Looking forward to:  Really feeling this little nugget move!

living room chairs

We FINALLY placed an order for chairs to go in our living room!  My Interior Designer BFF, Casey, was a huge help ordering these and helped me pull the trigger on the selection.  This was a big purchase for us so I wanted it to be perfect.  (Thanks Casey!) They will be in around the end of April and I could not be more excited!!!
This is the chair that we ordered  (Wesley Hall) with this fabric:
Ready to have this room complete!
