True Love - Painted Gray Kitchen Cabinets

One of my least favorite things about our abode is the kitchen cabinets.  They are builder grade early 1990’s and they make me cringe every time I see them.  We will be painting them gray {or hiring someone so TBD} but I just really haven’t decided where this falls on the “request” list.  Even touing our home for the first time I remember the feeling of the kitchen being a let down.  But to be honest, I am not sure I would like any kitchen without some sort of change.  I am particular, aren’t we all?  Since this isn’t our forever home we are keeping the white solid surface countertops and the floor tile.   I can look past the white refrigerator for now as well as the electric cook top {which will be changed to gas next year...I hope}.  But I do LOVE the bay window and the pantry.  Sunlight just pours in and I just love looking out to our backyard.

So far we have painted the kitchen walls Farrow and Ball Shaded Light, changed the light over the kitchen table to a Visual Comfort fixture, and changed the super skanky fluorescent fixture to something we came across at Home Depot.

About the paint.  I know I want the cabinets to be painted gray.  We will add trim to the top of the cabinets to make them look more finished.  I HOPE to change the backsplash to a white subway tile and of course new hardware.  Below are my inspirations picture.
