I haven't been blogging as much as I'd like for two reasons. First I am overcoming a head cold. I haven't been sick in years and to get sick this time of year is just bizarre to me. And second, our home computer is the one I had in college {circa 2003...yep} and it has to be the slowest thing on the planet. What ends up happening is me trying to surf the net, it then freaks out, and I have to walk away...if not it will end up being thrown from the second story window. My husband lets me use his work laptop {I was supposed to have my own work laptop like months ago} but his is currently broken. So you get the idea...we need a new home computer.
What I have been trying to look at on this ancient computer before it has a meltdown is gallery walls. I like to see examples of spacing {like the more random spacing myself} and the different frames. I personally like the random sizes and mixture of golds & woods for frames and I want to start collecting these when I go to Sleepy Poet {our local antique place}. I want to have a gallery wall leading up our stairs...we got lucky and have chair rail leading all the way so at least it has some interest currently. But I also want to fill the frames with art and pictures that mean something so I have a feeling that this is going to be something I work slowly on for months to collect.
Hey, I do have all my art from my general art classes in college that I could hang? My mother would be delighted if that finally left her house.

Here is a great tutorial on how to figure out how to hang your own from Ann Turner. I would start from the center and work your way out...but no need to measure or overthink it either.
Cheers! ~ Jess
